New Hope Programme |
New Hope is a scheme to facilitate the education of young people from challenging backgrounds in Kenya, who without external support, would not be able to complete their education.
The scheme provides educational scholarships for girls and young women who have academic potential and come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, meaning they are unable to afford fees without external support.

| Secondary students |
| Students are awarded 75% scholarships unless they are deemed by the committee to be living in exceptional circumstances which merit a 100% scholarship. |
| Students are encouraged to raise the final 25% themselves in order to encourage their extended family to take responsibility of their education costs and to ensure the family retain a sense of ownership over the student’s education. |
| Secondary students are also provided with a living allowance each semester to buy essential items such as sanitary towels and soap. |
| All New Hope secondary students are enrolled at Bishop Wambari Girls Secondary School. |
| Tertiary students |
| Students are awarded a 100% scholarship to cover the cost of fees. Full scholarships are awarded due to the massively increased costs associated with education at a tertiary level in comparison to secondary level costs. |
| Students are also awarded transport allowances and living allowances, according to their individual situations (some students’ accommodation costs are covered within tuition fee payments whilst others have to commute to university). Allowances are given to students at the beginning of each semester. |
