When George Njoroge was offered the chance to learn to drive a truck at Naivasha Technical Training Institute, he took it with both hands! Having passed his driving test, George has gone on to do a motor vehicle mechanics course. This involves an industrial placement where he works in a local garage to find out how a business really works.
When his training at NATETI is complete, George will be well qualified to earn his living, and Naivasha is a busy town with plenty of cars in need of repair!
George spent several years living on the streets and would not have had this opportunity if Footsteps hadn’t paid his fees. NATETI provides training for over 100 young people from poor families on year-long courses in trades such as welding, tailoring and IT. Most go on to get jobs, and many end up running their own businesses.
£25 a month helps a young man like George Njoroge learn a trade which will help him earn a living, and keep him off the streets…for ever.
