Here are some highlights of previous Footsteps fund-raising events:
2007 – Over 100 participants including Orpington MP John Horam took part in the 3rd Orpington Mara-fun on 12 May, 2007, raising over £7,500 for Footsteps projects. Click here to view images
2007 - A team of teachers and friends from Heathfield Community College completed the Three Peaks Challenge in May and raised over £800 for Footsteps projects. They climbed the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 23 hours 43minutes!
2007 Students and staff at Walthamstow Hall School, Sevenoaks raised nearly £200 with their version of ‘Deal or No Deal’ where one of the girls made a commendable Noel Edmonds!
2006 – the 2nd Orpington Mara-fun attracted 150 participants who enjoyed a dry, cool day (despite the poor forecast) and raised over £6,000 to help needy people in Kenya and Sierra Leone. Click here to view images
2005 – 1st Orpington Mara-fun.
Over 60 adults and children took part in the 2005 Orpington Mara-fun. 6 people ran the full 26 mile marathon, and 15 ran and walked a half-marathon. The rest walked or ran various distances round the track. Everyone had fun raising over £3,500 to help Footsteps projects.
2004 – Kilimanjaro climb.
In October 2004, Martin Print completed a sponsored climb of Mt Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest peak – 19,340 feet), and collected £15,000 for Footsteps projects.
