Children are highly vulnerable to the effects of violence, poverty and disease. There are 1 million AIDS orphans in Kenya and 50,000 children live on the street. Thousands of children are orphaned each year as a result of accidents and during childbirth, and many more were orphaned during the violence following Kenya’s elections.

Footsteps is providing long-term support to some of these desperately needy children:

  • Tumaini Children’s Home cares for orphans in Mombasa, Kenya.
  • Sunshine Home provides a haven for street boys in Naivasha, Kenya.
  • Top: John Mwangi.
Middle: One of the street boys.
Bottom: Methu, Stephen Karanja and Daniel Onyango.

Footsteps International is a Christian charity established to put into practice the command of Jesus Christ:
"Love the Lord your God... and your neighbour as yourself."
