Kennedy is the youngest of twelve orphaned children who were desperate for a home. The word on the street was that his parents had died of AIDS, but no-one really knew. His home, along with eleven other children from similar backgrounds, was a ramshackle house in a dangerous area of Mombasa. Often, the food left for him was stolen.
Now Kennedy lives at the Tumaini Children’s Home. He has a lovely, caring ‘dad’ and ‘mum’ – Charles and Mary – who manage a family which has now grown to twenty-eight children! One of the latest girls to join the Tumaini family is Pauline. Her parents both died recently, and she has no relatives who can support her and her two brothers.
£20 a month pays for a Tumaini child’s food, clothes, medical expenses and staff costs.
