Kware sewing project |
 |
Kware lies between Nairobi Airport and the city centre – a desolate area where unemployment is the norm and homes are tin huts separated by dirty roads and open sewers.
Teresiah Wanjiru, who lives in Kware, is now hoping for a brighter future, for herself and for her baby daughter Jane Njeri.
She has enrolled on a sewing project Footsteps supports and is learning to make dresses for sale. “Thank you for giving me the chance to start my own business. You are helping me and my baby so much. God bless you!”
How you can help
A sewing machine costs just £60. A small sewing business can generate enough income to help a mother feed her children in the Kware slum.
