Visiting a project

Why not visit one of Footsteps’ projects as part of your family holiday?

Kenya is one of the world’s leading destinations for wildlife, safari and beach holidays. Within a short distance of Footsteps’ projects you will find the following attractions:

Mombasa: a fascinating port steeped in history. Visit Fort Jesus and the historic Old Port before heading for the wonderful beaches in Mombasa and Diani Beach

Dolphin Dhow: a day swimming with dolphins and snorkelling at one of the world’s premier marine parks.

Tsavo National Park: Kenya’s largest national park and one of the world’s biggest. Tsavo West has a rolling volcanic landscape and is home to the "big five" animals. It also offers a temporary home to a huge number of migrating birds between October and January. Tsavo East has rolling scrub-covered hills and is home to large herds of elephant and buffalo.

Lake Nakuru National Park: Marvel at the beauty of the world-famous flamingos. Nakuru is also a beautiful game reserve where lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo can all be viewed in a single game drive.

Lake Naivasha: a serene haven for hundreds of species of birds, as well as a large population of hippos.

Masai Mara: The most popular game reserve in Kenya. The open grasslands are home to an incredibly rich and varied wildlife and the awesome, annual migration of millions of wildebeest and antelope is the highlight of many a visit to Africa.
